President and CEO
The founder of Sphera, the laboratory is home for Gianni. But he is not a nerd like all the others: he loves bonsai, carves wood and practices martial arts. In short, if you want to see him focused on his work, don’t even try to mention Japan. After a doctorate in Agro-Industrial Biotechnology, he became a Professor of Food Chemistry at the University of Verona in 2009, first as a researcher, then as an Associate Professor in 2019. For the past 7 years, he has concentrated his research on the encapsulation of nutraceutical molecules and is successfully leading the team Sphera.

Business Development Manager
An Industrial Engineer, a Ph.D. in Biotechnology and a polyglot, Martina is hyperactive in her life and her work. Between her studies in Bulgaria, Belgium, doctorate in Italy and specialization in France, nobody can stop her, not even when she leaves the laboratory and goes to her belly dance course and then her archery group. She worked for 4 years in international companies as a Production Manager and a Business Developer, practicing her skills in languages and gaining experience in different fields. Her greatest quality? Changing her mind and hobbies as many times as the color of her hair.

In science, good things come with time, and Francesca learned it from her beloved land turtle. A patient and meticulous food and agriculture biotechnologist, she has extensive experience in nano-encapsulation in the food, cosmetic and pharmaceutical sectors. Today she is involved in increasing and innovating laboratory techniques and patents, but she only succeeds while listening to Queen at full volume. In her spare time, she never stops experimenting, she simply takes off her lab coat and wears her beekeepers’ suit.

Lab coat or not, Giulia never gives up her greatest passion: super shiny dresses and sequins. Brilliant, our laboratory technician, above all has the ideas! After a Master’s degree in biotechnology at the University of Verona and a brief internship in Sphera in 2018, she became an important part of our team. Besides biology, Giulia loves animals a lot: maybe this is why she can smell the innovative discoveries so well?

Marco Dal Dosso
What happens when there is wind in Verona? Our lawyer greets us and runs off windsurfing on Lake Garda. Between tennis, basketball, and surfing, it does not surprise us that Marco is well trained for victory, and it is precisely for this reason that we have chosen him as our legal partner. Specialized in consulting in national and international operations, he supports Sphera in negotiating commercial agreements with customers or partners, protecting our interests.

Business Developer / Marketing Manager
When he says he did “a big shot”, he means it. Nicola, a kickboxing enthusiast, has a master’s degree in Management and Business Administration and has worked as Sales Account Manager and General Manager with multinational companies specialized in cosmetics and pharmaceuticals. In Sphera, he uses his international experience to open us to new business opportunities and new partnerships, but without getting into a fight. His motto is that he could even sell a woman’s handbag. Has he convinced you?

Tax and accounting for us come roaring. But on two wheels, because Simone loves engines almost as much as his city. A chartered accountant and statutory auditor, he has gained experience in tax matters, including international, corporate, in extraordinary transactions and inheritance. He is the owner of a studio in the province of Verona and a partner in another in the same city. What to say, precision is everything to him, and now it explains why his house is completely HighTech.
